About Us
KC Auto Center is a small, family-owned business that prioritizes high-quality customer service and takes pride in providing comprehensive collision and repair services—including paint, frame straightening, and mechanical work. Position Overview
We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated mechanic to join our team. This individual will work closely with our manager and fellow technicians to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues on a variety of vehicles. The ideal candidate is proactive, communicates effectively, and brings a strong sense of ownership to their work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical components in vehicles
  • Collaborate with team members and management to assess repair needs
  • Conduct test drives, inspections, and diagnostic tests to identify problems and necessary repairs
  • Use scanner tools (including PIDs) to analyze data and support accurate diagnosis
  • Perform preventative maintenance services such as oil changes, fluid flushes, and brake replacements
  • Provide accurate repair timelines and estimates for management review
  • Inspect internal systems to ensure vehicles meet safety and state compliance standards
  • Maintain detailed service records, including parts, labor, and client communications
  • Use shop tools and equipment safely and effectively, performing routine maintenance
  • Stay current on industry practices through ongoing training and skill development

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (additional certifications or training preferred)
  • Proven experience in diagnosing and repairing vehicles
  • Proficiency with hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and repair systems
  • Strong problem-solving, listening, and communication skills
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and capable of working independently or as part of a team
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to lift, bend, squat, and move parts weighing 50+ pounds
  • Must pass a drug screening and background check
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean, organized work environment with attention to detail

Work Schedule & Benefits

  • Full-time: 40 hours/week
  • Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (60 minute unpaid lunch)
